OVER 50’s WALKING Group
Walking Through History
Step into confidence, connection, and discovery across Rochdale and Greater Manchester.
Walking Through History is designed especially for people aged 50+. It’s all about enjoying gentle walks, exploring new places, and learning how to make the most of public transport — together.
Whether you’re looking to get out more, meet new friends, or simply feel more confident travelling independently, this programme offers a safe, supportive way to do it.
Enjoy the company, travel with ease, explore more, and feel good.
How It Works
Start Small – Gentle local walks help build trust and familiarity.
Go Further – Gradually explore public transport routes with accessible stops and options for all abilities.
Take the Lead – Help choose destinations and plan journeys.
Travelling as a group makes journeys fun and worry‑free. Many participants continue exploring together outside the programme.
Our café hub at Balderstone Park is the perfect meeting point — a reminder that adventures can start right from your doorstep.
Long-Term Benefits
