FUNDING secured for sensory cafe at the hive

We’re delighted to share some fantastic news — thanks to generous support from the Skelton Charity, funding has been secured to create a brand‑new Sensory Café at The Hive in Balderstone Park.

This exciting development will transform part of The Hive into a calming, inclusive space designed to support wellbeing and offer a unique experience for visitors of all ages and abilities. The Sensory Café will combine delicious food and drink with a carefully designed environment that stimulates the senses, making it welcoming for everyone — especially those who benefit from a more accessible, sensory‑friendly setting.

The project builds on our vision of The Hive as a true community hub: a place where people can connect, relax, and feel at home. With this new addition, we’ll be able to offer even more opportunities for people to enjoy the space, whether they’re dropping in for a coffee, joining a community activity, or simply looking for a peaceful spot to unwind.
