Rochdale Hornets Foundation Launches “Race Across Rochdale” – A Two‑Day Borough‑Wide Adventure Challenge

12–13 September 2026 | £50 per team of two

Rochdale Hornets Foundation is excited to announce the launch of Race Across Rochdale, a brand‑new two‑day adventure challenge taking place on 12–13 September 2026. Inspired by the spirit of Race Across the World, this unique event will see teams of two navigating their way across the borough using only public transport, walking routes and their own problem‑solving skills.

Across the weekend, participants will race between iconic Rochdale landmarks, complete creative and physical challenges, and earn points at checkpoints as they compete for the top spot on the leaderboard. With no taxis or private cars allowed, teams will need strategy, teamwork and a sense of adventure to succeed.

Entry is £50 per team of two, with all funds raised supporting Rochdale Hornets Foundation’s expanding programme of inclusive sport and community activity across the borough.

“Race Across Rochdale is more than a challenge – it’s a celebration of our borough, our people and the power of inclusive sport. Every team that takes part will be helping us deliver more opportunities for people of all ages and abilities to play, connect and belong.”

The route will take teams through a mix of well‑known landmarks and hidden gems. Each stop will feature a challenge designed to test creativity, teamwork, and resilience.

Race Across Rochdale is open to friends, families, colleagues, sports clubs and community groups. No specific fitness level is required – just enthusiasm, curiosity and a willingness to take on something completely different.

The event will culminate with a finish‑line celebration, where the winning team will be crowned and all participants recognised for their efforts.

Registration opens soon, with limited spaces available.
